So many things to listen to in each song! Every time I think I have an idea of what's coming, I'm surprised by the next interplay of rhythms and colors, the shifting perspectives from the intimate to the explosive, from anger to sadness, from sudden complexity to profound simplicity. You've painted a personal portrait here of a mature man dealing with the life he was handed with a confidence and self awareness seldom found in an artist of any age.

As a professor of music, I'll find this album indispensable in my Rock history and Music Appreciation classes when we discuss current artists.

Being someone who just got out of a long term relationship after 2 years, life hasn't been so great but your music was & still is acting as a true source of healing. The fact in itself that I can relate my situation & emotions to almost every song you have created is just amazing, Michael. All I can say is thank you & I wish you all the very best for the future. (One request though - because I've been a fan for many years now, I'd really appreciate it if you could put up the song "Everyone Sucks" & the cover of "Hurt" that you had done a few years ago.)

Just listened to "The Human Machine." "Great song, Mike! Every time I begin to listen to one of your songs, there's an unexpected treat of a "song view" around the corner--kind of like walking through a winding European city which is very unlike the grid-type of street design in the U.S. This circular--as opposed to linear--type of musical development is totally refreshing, open, maybe even Daoist (yin/yang. I could see that going on in the visuals as well. And the harmonic changes in the last part seem akin to the Beatles who had immersed themselves later in their career in Eastern religion. Definitely exciting music with a conscience!

I have been a fan of yours for about 1-2 years, used to listening to the music everyday after school. You really are a great artist man, I have bought your album on i-tunes and downloaded every song on this site to it too. I hope you keep making your own music man, so I can buy/download to listen to 'em.
